Goals for the week

Your goals for this week are:

1. Read the blog post "Identifying a school or a community need".

2. Post a comment to this blog post if you have not already done so. CLUE: think about the 2 minute drop off zone just outside the school.

3. Sarah and Sufia's comments so far have raised a safety issue and an idea about contacting another primary school to get additional information. What questions could you ask? Who would you ask at the school?

4. In the school newsletter that was just sent home there is some news on neighbours' driveways. "Across the road from our school is a public car park which many families use as a drop off and pick up spot. Unfortunately a small number of cars are parking or blocking the driveway behind the carpark. This is causing many problems for the families down the driveway". What do you think about this?

REMEMBER that you have the whole week to think about and then complete your goals. I have now emailed your class teacher so hopefully you will be able to have access to the blog over lunch if you prefer to do this learning at school.

Your brain is like a big muscle. It needs lots of exercise for it to expand and learn new things. Remember that you are all capable of doing anything you set you mind to!

Design

This picture of a messy desk presents an opportunity to design something. There is a need to keep the desk tidy. The design brief could be to "Find a way to keep the desk tidy". There are many ways of solving the PROBLEM of keeping the desk tidy.

Hooray for MOTAT!

MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) have offered Future Engineering the opportunity to complete their Inventions trail. This is great news and something we will talk about on Monday.

Great to see some more comments made. Well done to Sarah and Thomas for signing in, which means the whole group is now connected to this blog. Yeah!

REMEMBER, IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT FOR ENGINEERS TO MEET THEIR GOALS as it really helps them to complete projects. So, if you have not yet completed your goals for this week, you have only today left!

A video comment to the three questions by Sufia.

Annoying technology. Arggh!!! - Monday 28th March

Great to see you all today. Thank you Mrs O for letting us use your lovely room. This will be our regular meeting place from now on. We all tried to sign into the blog today to leave a comment from school but the school computer system would not allow us. This was very frustrating and boring!

The good news is that this has now been fixed. We will not have any problems next week.

REMINDER: It is really important that you remember your email address and password, other wise you will not be able to post a comment.

Remember! - Tuesday 29th March

Your goals this week are

A.collect some pictures for our image board
B. post a comment to the questions below.
C. Scroll down this blog and make sure that you have not missed any other requests to leave a comment.

We are thinking around the problem of the car park. We talked about the following questions.

1. How does school encourage children to walk to school?

2. What are the bike racks for in school?

3. How can the parents find out how their children can be encouraged to walk to school if they live nearby?

If you are not sure what to write, have a chat with a family member. Being able to talk about some thing you are going to write about will help your brain to plan what you will write.
